Study visit to the Hungarian-Slovak European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation ISTER-GRANUM

On 8th November 2011, the representatives of the "Tatry" Euroregion Assosiation led by Mr Antoni Karlak, Vice-President of the Counil and Mr Antoni Nowak, Director of the Office of the Polish "Tatra" Euroregion Assosiation, during their visit to the Hungarian-Slovak border held a meeting with the authorities of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation ISTER-GRANUM. ISTER-GRANUM began operating in 2008 as one of the first EGTC's established on the basis of the Community's innovative law with the aim to carry out joint actions of territorial cooperation. During the talks with  Ms ÉvaTétényi, President of the Assembly of ISTER-GRANUM and Mayor of Esztergom, Mr Jan Oravec, Co-chair of ISTER-GRANUM and Mayor of Štúrovo and Mr Peter Nagy, Director of ISTER-GRANUM, various aspects related to the establishment of EGTC, drafting its key documents and building the Grouping's organizational structure have been discussed. The visit was also an opportunity to learn about the experiences gained during the early stages of ISTER-GRANUM's operating, encountered problems as well as the prospects for sustainable developement. The Polish delegation also met with the municipalities of Mužla, Kravany nad Dunajom and Kestúc, members of the EGTC ISTER-GRANUM, where projects implemented and those planned to be launched, have been presented.
