Workshop on the EGTC Tatry organized in Trstena, Slovakia

A workshop on the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation TATRY was organised within the framework of the 19th Congress of Zdruzenie Region Tatry. It met in Trstena on 23rd April 2013, and was attended by representatives of the Slovak authorities, members of the Zdruzenie Region "Tatry" and guests: Tomas Kasaj, Vice Consul of the Slovak Republic in Krakow, Antoni Nowak, Managing Director of the Euroregion "Tatry" Association, Antoni Karlak, Member of the Council of Euroregion "Tatry" Association and Mayor of the Jablonka Municipality, and Honorary Members of the Euroregion "Tatry" Olga Marhulikova and Milan Nevlazla.

Detailed information concerning the progress on creating the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) Tatry was presented and discussed. The delegates of the Congress adopted a resolution on the accession of the Zdruzenie Region "Tatry" to the EGTC TATRY established together with the Euroregion "Tatry" Association - the Polish partner in the grouping. They also accepted the projects of the EGTC's basic documents - the Convention and the Statutes.

During the 19th Congrss of Zdruzenie Region "Tatry" the delegates to the Grouping's Assembly were chosen: Štefan Bieľak- Mayor of Spiska Bela, Michal Biganič - Mayor of Stara Lubowla, Jozef Ďubjak - Mayor of Trstena, Igor Kredátus - Vice Mayor of Kežmarok, Štefan Kubík - Vice Mayor of Poprad, Peter Petko - representative of Spišská Nová Ves and Jozef Repasky - Vice Mayor of Liptovský Mikuláš. Moreover, the candidates to Supervisory Board have been designated by Združenie Region „Tatry”: Ľudmiła Gnojčákova – representative of Kieżmark, Jána Pavlík – Mayor of Ružomberok and Alexander Slafkovski – Mayor of Liptovský Mikuláš.
