Musical spectacle - promotional concert "The Tatras bring us together"

On 14-15 of September 2011, the "Tatra" Euroregion Assosiation together with the Town of Nowy Targ organized an international conference "From the "Tatra" Euroregion to a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation", within the networking project co-funded under the Polish-Slovak Cross-border Co-operation Operational Programme 2007-2013 and with the funds of Malopolska Region. The Conference brought together many participants, including experts from the Committee of the Regions, the Assosiation of European Border Regions, the existing European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation, representatives of Polish and Slovak local governments of the borderland as well as the regional and national authorities. The Conference was granted the Patronage of the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union.

The promotional concert “The Tatras Bring Us Together” is an event accompanying the Conference. It is directed by Jerzy Zoń of the "KTO" Experimental Theatre from Krakow, who is renowned for having stage-managed many theatrical and outdoor performances, such as the outdoor spectacle for the 650th anniversary of Nowy Targ and the Legend of Saint Kinga in Kroscienko in 2002.

The concert will take place on 14 September 2011 (Wednesday) at 19.00 at the Market Square in Nowy Targ. The concert will be performed by by the actors of the KTO Theatre, the fire dancers of  SIRRON Theatre in Cracow and Polish and Slovak folk groups:

  • POPRADCANKA, the Brass Band from Poprad
  • GORCE, the Chorus of Teachers from Nowy Targ
  • KAŁE BAŁA, the Romany Band from Czarna Góra
  • WIERCHOWIANIE, the Folk Group from Bukowina Tatrzańska
  • RZOZ, the Sung Poetry of Highland
  • MAGURA, the Folk Band from Kezmarok

The performance breaks the usual convention by the exceptional use of the space around the stage as well as the original adaptation of staging solutions. The setting of the show combined with the play of lights will create attractive and compelling illusions highlighting the beauty of the region, and the high level of performance will bring an unforgettable artistic impressions.
